The Festival
Shanty Society Pommern organised the festival in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2024. Performers from more than ten countries visited the festival singing salty shanties from the era of the windjammers. After two Covid-ridden years we looked forward to have the festival again but a Covid backlash in the beginning of the year 2022 had us realise that it would be too difficult.
This year 2025 there will be no festival. But we hope to be able again to stage a festival, a journey over the seven seas and relive the onboard environment and of course the life in the pubs on the quay.
